Masajiro "Mike" Kawato, a Japanese World War II fighter ace who shot down his U.S. archrival, Medal of Honor winner Gregory "Pappy" Boyington, and then became good friends with him.  He died at age 76. Kawato, a Zero pilot shot down five times.
