Description -

This book is story of a trip down the Yukon in a kayak, before kayaks were popular for long distance travel. The author describes well the beauty and adventure of the spring and summer long trip. He describes also the friendly and often colorful characters he meets along the journey.

The trip begins at off-loading a folding kayak upstream of the Yukon headwaters, on the shore of a frozen lake. The journey ends in the hot buggy Yukon delta, months later after many wonderful landscapes, adventures with animals and pleasant meetings with local people.
